Kent U16 team played great as a team again!

Our last Shires league match against Cambridge was held away at Tiptree, Colchester and what a fantastic treat for Mothering Sunday.  Our opposition were very welcoming but unfortunately the hall was poorly lit and with no heating felt like a fridge. After an extended warm-up the matched kicked off with a round of mixed with some nice opening rallies and once the players got on the attack we won the 4 opening games.

Quick turn around to keep warm and straight wins in both the boys and girls singles.  Moving into the final round of doubles our team stayed focused and determined not to drop a game resulting in a fantastic 20-0 win for Kent.

Team players: Jess, Aoife, Shivani, Ingrid, Joshua, Thomas, Rohan and Sankalp.

A big thank you to the parents for helping with the scores, court side support, providing lifts for the players and catering.

Kent U14 team with a fantastic win over Surrey

After three consecutive draws the team were determined to end this match in a win.  Surrey were not going to make it easy though, that had a strong team, not much between their first and fourth players.  We won a few opening games but we’re behind by 2 games midway.  We dug deep to pull back level with 2 boys doubles remaining.  The boys handled the pressure well and went on to win the final games in straight sets.   Final score Kent 11- Surrey 9.  Big thank you to Kevin and Severine for coaching and keeping the score sheet in order.
